About the Library

            Kalabari College has a well-managed Library situated in a central place within the college premises. The library is equipped with substantial number of books, journals, newspaper and magazine to satisfy the users, curriculum, researches and other references.

            A student can take the various services of the library such as book reading, news paper reading, journal and magazine reading, borrowing books on loan for reading in their home, etc. by applying on a separate application provided by the librarian within a specified period of time. After taking admission in the college each student are requested to contact the librarian to apply for the Library Card.

            The library remains open from 10.00 a.m to 4 p.m on each working day except the gazette holidays, Sundays and any other declared holidays. To digitize its library service Soul 2.0 is install in the library in November, 2019. A new Library building is under construction for the library within the college premises and is about to complete.

Library Rules

(1)   To obtain, various services of the library a Library card is must. So after taking admission in the college each student are requested to apply for the library I-card by taking an application form the library office.

(2)   Library card is not transferable. In each student name there is only one Library card.

(3)   Books are issued to the students for a period of fifteen (15) days only for the first time, after that the same book can be renewed for two (2) times i.e. 30 days. After that the specified book has to return and can take another book on loan.

(4)   An overdue charge of Rs1/- only per day is levied if a book is kept beyond due time.

(5)   Borrowers must check the physical condition of the Book before getting them issued. Otherwise they will be held responsible for any damage or mutation notice at the time of return.

(6)   Books on loan with members can be recalled at any time without assigning any reason thereof.

(7)  A fine of Rs. 50/- will be charged for reissue of a Library card.

(8)   Each member of the library is responsible for any mis-use of the library card issued in their name. So if a library card is lost due to some reason it is the duty of a member to inform the librarian immediately with an application form, otherwise he/she will be responsible for any mis-use of the card.
