Profile of the Department :

The department of Economics, Kalabari College, Kalabari came to being with the permission of Gauhati University, Guwahati in 1993 as a core subject. The major course in Economics was introduced in the session 1998-1999. Since its inception the department has been organising seminars, workshops, field study, group discussion, annual publication of wall magazine etc. Apart from these, the department also extends the academic activities by doing faculty and student exchange programme. The syllabus of economics is innovated and prescribed by the Gauhati University, Guwahati which is followed by the department.

Aims and Objectives :

1. To broaden quality education to the students.
2. To encourage a self-entrepreneurship spirit among the students
3. To acquire knowledge of personality development among the students.
