About The College
One of the premier institutions of higher education in Biswanath district of Assam, Kalabari College has come a long way since its inception in 1992. This is the last higher educational institution under Gauhati university in the eastern part of the Biswanath District of Assam on the north bank of the mighty Brahmaputra. Situated at an easily accessible location in Kalabari of Biswanath District along the National Highway 15, the college has been able to provide a sustainable momentum to the efforts to provide quality education to the student community. The college is affiliated to Gauhati University, Guwahati and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 12(B) in the year 2015.
This college is a single stream college having only the Arts stream offering the Three years Degree Course with the programmes- MIL (Assamese), Adv. Assamese, English, Economics, Education, History, Political Science, and Geography. Apart from the B.A. programme this institution has also introduced Distance Education under Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University (KKHSOU) and Institute of Distance and Open Learning (IDOL), Gauhati University, Guwahati. The college already celebrated the glorious Silver Jubilee Year.
Since the inception of the college, it has been trying its best to maintain the quality of higher education. Every year about 1000 students from different parts of this locality got admitted in this college and this has been continuing today as well. At present the institution has been offering MIL (Assamese), Adv. Assamese, English, Economics, Education, History, Political Science, and Geography under Gauhati University, Guwahati. Apart from the B.A. programme this institution has also introduced Distance Education under Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University (KKHSOU) and Institute of Distance and Open Learning (IDOL), Gauhati University, Guwahati. The college was provincialized in the year 2013 and it has already submitted IIQA for the first cycle of NAAC assessment and accreditation.
